This vintage Soviet-era military identification booklet, or “Krasnoarmeyets – Snayper” (Red Army Soldier – Sniper) document, is dated 1939. The small booklet features a red fabric cover embossed with a Soviet star, a soldier aiming a rifle within a wreath, and Cyrillic text identifying it as a “Рабоче – Крестьянская Красная Армия” (Worker-Peasant Red Army) document. Inside, the paper pages display issuance details for “1. января. 1939 г.” (January 1, 1939), a photograph of the recipient, “Волошин Сергей Иванович” (Voloshin Sergei Ivanovich), and his handwritten signature. Further details indicate he was “состоит на службе Р.К.К.А. С.С.С.Р.” (in service of the RKKA USSR) as a “Командир Особой группы снайперов НКВД” (Commander of a Special Group of Snipers of the NKVD).
