The forend features a diamond and zigzag checkered pattern, while the pistol grip area of the stock also has a checkered texture. Visible markings on the barrel include “WINCHESTER” (registered trademark), “.22 S.L. OR L.R. – MODEL – 290”, and “MADE IN U.S.A.” A serial number “432513” is etched on the underside of the receiver, and the word “WINCHESTER” is molded into the black rubber buttplate.
