A ‘New Victor’ single-barrel, break-action, exposed hammer shotgun manufactured by The Crescent Fire Arms Co. of Norwich, CT. It features a darkened steel barrel and receiver, paired with a dark-stained wooden stock and fore-end, and a black buttplate. Markings on the left side of the receiver identify it as ‘NEW VICTOR’ and ‘THE CRESCENT FIRE ARMS CO. NORWICH, CT.’ The barrel is stamped ‘GENUINE ARMORY STEEL.’ Further markings, including a partial ‘T.O.E. [unclear symbol] 9’ and the number ‘683,’ are visible on the underside of the barrel/action. The buttstock is broken, with a dark, possibly taped or wrapped, reinforcement around the wrist.
