A military surplus style metal ammunition can, dark olive-green painted, containing 600 rounds of mixed head stamped .38 Special ammunition. The can features a hinged lid with a carrying handle and two front latches. A faded white label is present on the lid, alongside a yellowed strip of tape bearing the handwritten text “600 rounds.” The interior of the can is filled with assorted metallic cartridges. The cartridges, predominantly with brass casings and some silver-toned (likely nickel-plated), include various projectile types such as lead round nose and copper-jacketed. A smaller selection of these cartridges is also displayed outside the can.
